Gross, a post-village of Crawford county, is a station on the St. Louis & San Francisco R. R. 20 miles south of Fort Scott and 16 miles northeast of Girard, the county seat. It has telephone connections with the surrounding towns, an express office, and is a trading center for the neighborhood.
