Wauneta, a village of Chautauqua county, is a station on the Missouri Pacific R. R. in Jefferson township, 12 miles west of Sedan, the county seat. It has telegraph and express offices and a money order postoffice with one rural route. Several of the main lines of business are represented and this station is a receiving and shipping point for a large and prosperous agricultural territory. The population according to the census of 1910 was 100.
