Obituary of VIRGINIA LEE KRUG "TUNY" LANE
Virginia Lee Krug "Tuny" Lane, 81, a lifetime resident of Hoisington, died July 22, 2001, at Specialty Hospital of Mid-America, Overland Park.

She was born April 27, 1920 at Hoisington, the daughter of Leo and Beatrice Hammond Krug.

Virginia married Grant L. Lane June 14, 1939, at Hoisington. He preceded her in death January 5, 2000.

She was a homemaker and retired field secretary for the Federal Crop Insurance Corp.

Virginia was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Altar Society, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 286, and a former member of the USD No. 431 School Board, BPW, PEO, Hoisington Civic Club, SACS, and several bridge clubs, all of Hoisington. She was also a past State President of the American Legion Auxiliary, former Girl's State and Girl's Nation counselor, and a member of 8/40.

Survivors include: a son, Kevin Lane, Washington, D.C.; three daughters, Nancy Lane, Russell; Patty Carpenter, Alexandria, Va., and Mary Bea Littrell, Washington D.C.; and two grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hoisington, with Fr. Pascal Klein officiating.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington.
Memorials are suggested to Clara Barton Foundation, or St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, both in care of the mortuary.
