He was born 1848 in Germany. He and his siblings immigrated to the United States in 1865. From 1880 to 1900, he lived in Ford County, KS. In the 1920 Kansas Census he and his wife Carrie are enumerated as living on Fourth Street in Kinsley, KS. He was a member of the Catholic Church, and died while living in Edwards County in 1925.
