Obituary of BRUCE R. COATE |
Bruce R. Coate, 66, Wilson, died Monday, March 25, 2002,
at Ellsworth County Medical Center, Ellsworth. He was born June 15, 1935, at Dodge City, the son of Richard and LaVerne Burnette Coate. Bruce married Sandra L. Shufelberger, on May 21, 1960, in Montezuma. He grew up in the Dodge City area, lived in Chicago for nine years, Colorado Springs, Colorado, for 13 years, and has lived in Wilson since 1983. He was a member of Evangelical Free Church, Ellsworth and was a U.S. Army veteran. Bruce owned and operated Bruce's Professional Guide service at Lake Wilson. Funeral serve will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 28, at Evangelical Free Church, Ellsworth, with Pastor Tom Richards officiating. Internment will be at Wilson City Cemetery, Wilson, with military graveside honors. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. to noon Thursday at Foster Mortuary, Wilson, and from 1 p.m. to service time Thursday at the church. He was preceded in death by; his parents; one daughter, Tammy in 1975; and a sister, Penny in 1988. Survivors include; his wife of the home; one daughter, Brenda Bunton, Ridgland, S.C.; two brothers, Lonnie Coate, Afton, Oklahoma, and Mike Coate, Ensign; and four grandchildren. Memorials are suggested to the Evangelical Free Church in care of the mortuary. |
