Obituary of MARTHA MARIAH HORTON

Obituary-Logsdon

Martha Mariah Horton was born at Smyrna, Mich., Jan. 6, 1849, died at her home in Ozawkie, Dec. 13, 1922, aged 82 yrs., 11 mos., 7 days.

In 1859 she with her parents came to Kansas, settling near Oskaloosa; later to the vicinity of Ozawkie where they took a claim. She united in marriage with Jas. E. Logsdon in June, 1860, at Ozawkie. To them were born three sons and six daughters. Four children and the husband preceded her in death.

She was a member of the church of the Brethren for more than 50 years and lived a life of true devotion. In her was found a perfect example of patience of goodness; a devoted companion and mother. One son, 4 daughters, 17 grandchildren, 15 great grand children and 3 great great grand children will miss her as mother and friend.

Funeral services were held from the church of the Brethren Dec. 15 2 p. m. Rev. H. L. Brammell in charge.
