VALLEY FALLS NEW ERA, 6 December 1874
Obituary of REV. SOLOMON WEAVER
Rev. Solomon Weaver, of Grasshopper Falls, Kansas, brother of Bishop J. Weaver died in peace, December 6th, 1874, aged 60 years, 3 months, and eight days.

He had been in feeble health for a good while. He, many years since, was very useful in his labors in behalf of Western College, Iowa; and after his removal to Kansas he was an active friend of Lane University, our institution at Lecompton.

For a number of years he was editor of the Kansas
New Era. He was a member of the Kansas Conference after his removal to that state. He has a large number of friends in different states, who will be deeply grieved by his death.
