Obituary of LYMAN DANIEL WHITE
Lyman Daniel White, 84, of Rt 2, Coffeyville, died Sunday night, Dec 1, 1996, at his home.

He was born May 17, 1912, near Tribune in a sod house to Perry and Olive (Knock) White. The family moved to Caney when he was 6 weeks old. He began his schooling in Caney. The family moved to Labette County in the 1920's, and he graduated from Labette County Community High School at Altamont.

He married Naomi P. Traxson Sept. 10, 1933, at Caney. They made their home in Labette County. She survives of the home.

Mr. White farmed, raised cattle and had worked for OCS, now Parmac, at Coffeyville. During World War II, he worked at the Army Air Base. He retired from farming in 1975.

Mr. White was a member of the Angola United Methodist Church.

Other survivors include a son, Gerald Gene White of Rt. 3, Coffeyville; a daughter, Phyllis Griffith of Rt. 1, Coffeyville ; a sister, Lila Ferrell of Caney;; three grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Bruce and Harold; and four sisters, Evelyn, Jewell, Marguerite and Helen.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Angola United Methodist Church. Burial will be in The Richland Cemetery north of Angola.

Friends may call until 9 p.m. today at the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Edgewood Chapel and from 8:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the Church.
