CHETOPA ADVANCE, 13 January 1887
Obituary of MARGARET ANGELINE NEWMAN DONALDSON
Mother Donaldson’s Death
When the death of Father Donaldson was announced a short time ago, it was remarked that but a little while longer and he would be followed by his aged wife. This was but too true and last Sabbath all that was mortal of Mother Donaldson was laid quietly to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery. Her sickness had not been of long duration, as near as we could learn, although she had not been well since the death of Father D. which was about six weeks ago.
Mother Donaldson became a Christian and a member of the Methodist Episcopal church when but sixteen years of age in Tennessee.
She was married to Father Donaldson at the age of seventeen years. For almost seventy-four years have this good old couple traveled down life’s rugged path together, hand in hand; sharing a like of life’s joys and life’s sorrows. They have been separated but a few weeks. They have gone to claim the crown laid up for them in Heaven. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. V. T. Durboraw, in the presence of a large concourse of sympathizing friends. She leaves several sons and daughters to mourn her departure.
Cemetery Loc: 1 MI. S., 1/4 MI E. OF CHETOPA, LABETTE CO., KS.
