Died - At the home of his son, southwest of Labette, Friday, April 6th, at 11:30 a.m. Jeremiah Windbigler, aged 86 years, 2 months and 2 days. Funeral services were held at Zion Hill church Sunday at 10 o'clock, with Rev. Rhea officiating, after which the remains were interred in the Oswego cemetery. The deceased was one of a family of fifteen children, of whom seven were boys, and eight girls, all of whom except two have preceded him to the other world.
He was married in 1841 to Martha Doremire, which partner was called away from him fifteen years ago. To the union were born eight children, of whom one daughter and three sons have gone before. He leaves 26 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren to mourn the loss.
In boyhood, he lived in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania. He grew to manhood in Richland county Ohio, but was a pioneer of Kansas. Since the death of his wife, he has made his home with his sons.
He was a member of the Methodist church, and remained loyal to his profession.
He was a class leader and generous supporter of the cause of Christ.
