Mary Madeleine TERRIOT on 5 Nov 1847 in Nova Scotia. She was born 14 Jan 1827 in Nova Scotia. Their children are as follows: Joseph b. 1851, Louis b. 16 Dec 1852, Emily b. 1854, Margaret b. 1857, Charles b. 20 Dec 1848, Augustus b. 20 Dec 1858, Sarah b. 1861, and Adaline b. 1863. This family was listed on the 1860 census in Douglas Co., Illinois and the 1870 census of Labette Co., Kansas. Ambrose and Mary are buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Parsons, KS. I have information on the descendants of Louis and Augustus but I have been unable to locate any of the other children after 1870. Are there any descendants out there? There are a variety of spellings, such as Dousette, Dousett, Dousset, Doussett, Doucette and Douset. The descendants of Louis spell their name Doussett. The descendants of Augustus spell their name Dousette. I don't know how the other children may have spelled their name. They had two sons, Albert and William. James left the family while the children were very young. Flora later married Will Attwood and had daughters Dovie, Jesse, Nannie and Esther. Flora was born in VA and moved to Bartlett, Labette Co. as a child. Flora's father, Martin Beverly Fugate fought in the civil war - cavalry. He and most of his THOMASON family migrated from Georgia to Arkansas in the early 1850s. Most of his relatives are buried in Arkansas. So what took him to Kansas?
