THE PLEASANTON OBSERVER, 4 October 1896
Marriage of MR. & MRS. JAMES P. SHATTUCK
SHATTUCK - FRISBIE NUPTIALS
Married at the residence of the bride's parents in this township Sunday, October 4, 1896, Mr. James P. Frisbie and Miss Jessie Shattuck, Rev. D.R. Tripp officiating.

The bride is the oldest daughter of Mrs. Mary Shattuck and is one of the best known and accomplished young ladies of this vicinity. The groom has lived in this place about ten years and is known and respected by everyone.

Only the best friends and relatives were present at the ceremony. Monday a reception and dinner was given them at the home of S.D. Phillips of this place, a brother-in-law of the groom. The happy couple then took the afternoon train for Kansas City amid a shower of rice, old shoes, etc., thrown at them for good luck. They will take in the Parade this week and
visit relatives of the groom, also purchasing necessary furniture and will commence housekeeping in ther handsome new residence of this place (Boicourt).

May their journey down the river of life be ever peaceful and calm, with just a "little squall" occasionally, just to keep the trip from becoming
monotonous, is the wish of your correspondent.
