Marriage of MR. & MRS. OSCAR SHATTUCK

AT THE ALTAR
We take great pleasure this week in chronicling the marriage of Oscar Shattuck and Miss Ida McCauley. They were married Wednesday evening at 8
o'clock p.m. (10/14/1896) in the presence of about twenty relatives and friends at thre residence of the bride's parents (in Trading Post).

Miss Nettie Shattuck acted as bridesmaid and E.L. Calvin as the best man.
Promptly at 8 o'clock, Mrs. Belle Hall, seated at the piano began playing the wedding march, when the bridal party marched into the parlor which had been
tastefully decorated for the occasion where they were pronounced man and wife by Rev. D.R. Tripp in a very beautiful and impressive marriage ceremony.

After congratulations the guests, twenty-six in number, were invited into the dining room where everything known to the culinary art was spread in tempting
array to coax the appetites of those present, and from the manner in which the vianda disappeared it seems that they wre not coaxed in vain.

The bride was attired in cream brocaded silk, trimmed with ribbon, lace and pearl passamentrie. It was the most elaborate trossou ever seen at this place. The groom was dressed in regulation black.

The bride has lived here from childhood and has many warm friends in this community. Mr. Shattuck is one of Valley's most promising young farmers and is well worthy of the prize he has chosen.

They will be at home to their many friends at their handsome new residence a mile and a half north of this place (Trading Post).
