Obituary of ALEXANDER ALBERT STRECKER
Alex Strecker Rites At St. John Lutheran
Alex A. Strecker, 78, Gorham, died at Russell City Hospital Sunday Morning (27 January 1974).

He was born Feb. 11, 1895, in Russell County and grew up in the Susank area. His early adult life was spent in Susank and Russell. For 22 years he lived in Colorado Springs. Then he moved in 1969 to Gorham.
He was a retired mechanic and a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Russell American Legion and the Gorham Community Church.

He is survived by his widow, Mollie Michaelis, whom he married July 27, 1924, at Susank; two daughters, Mrs. Leroy (Helen Hirsch) Joplin, Mo., Mrs. John A. (Erma) Brown, Gorham; a brother, Henry, Hoisington; a sister, Mrs. Lydia Dumler, Longmont, Colo., three half brothers, Fred and Ed R. Strecker, Russell, and Fred Heinze, Greensboro; two half-sisters, Miss Minnie Strecker, Russell, and Mrs. Bertha Havel, Russell; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Preceding him in death were two sisters.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church in Russell, Rev. Delbert McLaughlin Officiating. Burial will be in Russell Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held at 7:30 Tuesday evening at the Deines Funeral Chapel for family and friends. Calling will be after 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel until 11 a.m. Wednesday, and from 1 p.m. to service time at the church.

A memorial has been established for Gorham Community Church and donations may be left at Deines Funeral Home.
