Obituary of GERTRUDE HILGENBERG |
Gertrude Hilgenberg, 85, Russell, died Saturday,
November 24, 2001, at Wheatland Nursing Center, Russell. She was born February 29, 1916, at King Center, Colorado, the daughter of Phillip and Anna Heinitz Hardt. Gertrude lived much of her life in the Bunker Hill area, moving from the family farm to Russell in 1972. She was a homemaker and for a few years worked at the Family Market in Russell. She married Alvin C. Hilgenberg, August 20, 1932, near Bunker Hill. He died December 23, 1989. Gertrude was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; an infant daughter, Arlene; and two sisters, Marie Lucas and Emma Schroeder. Survivors include; one son, Lawrence Hilgenberg, Russell; one daughter, Karon K. Hanrahan, Santa Fe., N.M.; two sisters, Esther Reilly, Dorrance and Irene Coffeen, Russell; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, at Pohlman's Memorial Chapel, Russell, with Rev. Henry Hartman officiating. Burial will follow at Russell City Cemetery, Russell. Memorials are suggested to Wheatland Nursing Center, Russell, in care of the mortuary. |
