Obituary of JULIUS STRECKER
Julius Strecker, 76, died Dec. 19 at his home in Liberal. He was born Oct. 3, 1905, in Russell, son of George and Catherine (Dumler) Strecker.

He was a farmer and in later years also a carpet layer, retiring in 1979, when he moved from Russell to Liberal.

He married Marie Meier, August 31, 1929, at Russell. She survives.  Other survivors are a son, Don Strecker, Liberal; two daughters, Mrs. Jean Rosel, Liberal, and Mrs. Jim (Norma) Tanner, Oklahoma City, Okla,; four brothers, Alex, Roswell, N.M., Jacob, Salina, Paul, Hoisington, and Fred, Lakewood, Colo.; three sisters, Mrs. Carl (Mollie) Newacheck, Russell; Mrs. Emelie Tittel, Great Bend, and Mrs. Pauline Miller, Wichita; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran church in Russell and a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Liberal.

Funeral services were Monday at St. John Lutheran Church in Russell with Rev. Herman Frerichs officiating. Interment was in the Lutheran Cemetery in Russell.

Memorials have been established to Grace Lutheran Church at Liberal and St. John Lutheran Church in Russell.
