Obituary of PHOEBE TABEA STRECK
LOCAL RUSSELL WOMAN IS FOUND DEAD TODAY
Mrs. Phoebe Streck, 69, 841 E. 7th Street., died Sunday night at her home. Her body was found in her bed at about 8:20 a.m. today by her daughter, Bonnie Streck, who was staying with her here.

Death was believed to have come from self-inflicted wrist wounds made by a razor blade.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Pohlman's Mortuary.

Dr. Jerald Starkey, deputy district coroner, Larry Ehrlich, county attorney, Russell police and a member of the sheriff's office were called to investigate the death.

Mrs. Streck and her daughter returned to Russell Friday from Wichita where the mother had been receiving medical treatment. She had been in poor health since the death of her husband, John Streck, in May.

The daughter told officers she last saw her mother at about 8 p.m. Sunday night. She said she heard no noise from her mother's room during the night.
