Obituary of RUTH SARAH DIETZ |
Ruth Sarah Dietz, 80, Russell, died Sept. 5, (1990) in the Hadley Regional Medical Center at Hays. She was born July 22, 1910, to David R. Dumler and the former Sarah Schwindt. She married Emil Dietz, Feb. 7, 1932, at Milberger. She was a professional cook and homemaker. For 10 years she was a cook at Lincoln School near Milberger. For five years she cooked for the O'Brien Cafe in Russell, and for many years she cooked for the nursing homes here until her retirement in 1986. She was well known for her community work. She was a member of the Priscilla Circle of St. John Lutheran Church of Russell and of the Trinity Lutheran Aid Society. Survivors are: her husband, Emil, of the home; one son, Gene Dietz, of Russell; two daughters, Merna Holkum, Oklahoma City, Okla.; and Dorothy Dolechek, Hoisington; two brothers, Ferdinand Dumler, Russell, and William Dumler, Aurora Colo.; two sisters, Elma Brack, Galatia, and Eulalia Titus, Tulsa, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Her funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, from St. John Lutheran church in Russell. Pastor James Strasen, Hays, officiated. Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery near Milberger. Cline-Pickens Funeral Home of Russell was in charge of arrangements. Contributions maybe be made to the Ruth Dietz Memorial at the funeral home. (Funeral Card) |
