Allan Murra Gregg

Allan Murra Gregg, 76, died July 20, 1999, at Share Convalescent Center, Alva, Oklahoma.

He was born December 29, 1922, at Nickerson, the son of Murra and Sarah Anna (Mummey) Gregg. He attended Nickerson Public Schools, and graduated from Nickerson High School in 1942. In 1948 he went to Chillicothe, Missouri for depot agent training. He was an agent for the Missouri Pacific Railroad at Sweard, Iuka, Larned, Kiowa and Hardtner. He later had a mobile depot route from Hardtner to Wichita, retiring in 1984.

He was a member of College Hill Church of Christ, and a member of the American Legion at Hardtner. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

On August 9, 1948, he married Jeanette Eunice Clothier at Great Bend. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Kent, of Alva; a daughter, Vickie Warrington, Hutchinson; a brother, John, Lyons; two sisters, Merla Cunday, Hutchinson, and Martha Holmes, Boise, Idaho; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Valeria Pentz; and a granddaughter.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 22, 1999, at College Hill Church of Christ, with Kelly McCoy presiding. Burial was in Hardtner Cemetery.
