Arthur Johnson

Arthur Johnson, 100, Medicine Lodge, died Monday, January 30, 2006 at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital, Medicine Lodge.

He was born September 19, 1905 at Iola, Kansas, the son of Dan and Ometha (Schultz) Johnson. A resident of Medicine Lodge for most of his life, he was a farmer. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Leisure Time Center, Medicine Lodge.

On April 28, 1928 he married Ester Balmer at Neosho Falls, Kansas. She died October 25, 1992.

He is survived by 7 nieces, Madalyn Varnell and Connie Shetler, both of Iola, Margie Masterson, Jacksonville, Florida, Linda Overton and Janet Stranghorner, both of Wichita, Ester Beth Funk, Conway Springs, Kansas, June Tredway, Clovis, New Mexico; and 3 nephews, Roy and Roger Holland, both of Iola and Virgil Bliss, Bushnell, Florida.

He was preceded in death by a brother Ralph Johnson and three sisters, Clara Brooks, Grace Bliss and Lola Mae Holland.

Funeral was held at United Methodist Church, Medicine Lodge on Saturday, February 4, 2006, with Rev. Frank DeFisher officiating.

Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.
