FUNERAL RITES FOR AUBRA DONOVAN TUESDAY

Funeral services for Aubra Donovan, long time resident of this city and county were held at the Forsyth Funeral Home in this city Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. Chester A. Miles, pastor of the Methodist church. Interment was in Highland cemetery. Mr. Donovan died at a Wichita hospital after an illness of several weeks on Tuesday, June 20th. He had been a resident of Barber county for thirty-five years.

Aubra Donovan, son of Denis and Editha Donovan, was born April 28th, 1872, near Warrensburg, Missouri, and left this life June 20th, 1937, in the Wichita Hospital, Wichita, Kansas at the age of sixty-five years, one month and twenty-three days.

At the age of twelve he came with relatives to this section, and spent many years of manhood on the range. There, he formed acquaintances and many friends who have been dear to him throughout his life. During this time he met Minnie Rackley to whom he was united in marriage, January 19, 1899. Following this union he became a rancher and farmer of this vicinity, where he continued that occupation until retirement about four years ago. Since then, his interests have remained with his life's occupation and experiences connected with it. Many of his last remarks centered about those interests and a desire that he might return to the times of his early experiences. Because of his jovial outlook on life, and jolly disposition "Aub" will remain in the memory of many of those who knew him.

Three of his children preceded him in death, a daughter, Ona, and two sons, Faye and Aubra Jr. Those remaining to mourn his departure are his wife, Minnie C. Donovan, three children, Mrs. Sybil Easton of Guthrie, Okla., Miss Jessie Donovan and Raymond Donovan of Medicine Lodge, one brother, Frank Donovan of Medicine Lodge, two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Valbracht and Mrs. Mary Barnum, of Los Angeles, California and six grandchildren, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
