Bert F. NittlerBert F. Nittler, age 98, died Friday, July 11, 2008 at his home in Lake City. He was born February 15, 1910 in Hale Center, TX the son of Fred and Matilda "Tilly" (Sippel) Nittler He moved to Lake City in 1948 after living in Zenda, KS. He loved farming, his family and sports. He was a member of the Lake City Methodist Church, Lake City Cemetery Board, Gerlane and Lake City School Boards, and was a church Trustee.

On June 29, 1941, he married Polly Ann Gaddis in Harper, KS. She survives, other survivors include 5 sons Jan, Arkansas City; Kent, Lake City; Bill, Medicine Lodge; Randy, Parkerfield; Jody, Medicine Lodge and one daughter, Dayna Richardson, Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers Lester "Lett", Edward "Tuck", Arthur "Tay", and Harold "Top", and a sister Mabel Stump.

A celebration of life was held Monday, July 14, 2008 at the First Christian Church in Medicine Lodge with Pastor Tom Walters and Chaplain Fred Pinkerton officiating. Burial was held at Lake City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Barber County Home Health, South Wind Hospice, or Lake City Methodist Church in care of Larrison Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge.
