As the Index goes to press it hears that Lt. Curtis Pfaff is missing in action over Italy since July 6. Lt. Pfaff is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pfaff of Hazelton. The parents had a letter from him dated, July 4, just two days before he was reported missing.

Pfaff, USAAF, 0-749741, 2 LT, Killed in Action; 429th Bomber Squadron, 2nd Bomber Group, Heavy; Entered the Service from: Kansas; Died: 6 Jul 1944; Buried at: Plot E Row 14 Grave 18; Florence American Cemetery; Florence, Italy; Awards: Air Medal, Purple Heart. -- American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC).
