Dale Guy Lukens

Dale Guy Lukens, 73, died December 3, 1955, at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 1, 1922, at the homestead in rural Medicine Lodge, the son of George Washington and Mabel Garten Lukens. A lifetime Medicine Lodge resident, he was a horseman, rancher and farmer.

He was a lifetime member of American Paint Horse Association, member of Little Britches Association, involved with Medicine Lodge Peace Treaty Association since 1927, founding officer of Medicine Lodge Saddle and Roping Club and was a board member of Dry Creek School.

On July 13, 1940, he married Marjorie Lucille Baier at Harper. She died May 17, 1993.

Survivors include: a son, Roger L., West Lafayette, Indiana; a daughter, G. Kaye Kuhn, Medicine Lodge; a brother, Ralph, Medicine Lodge; a sister, Marion McCullough, Medicine Lodge; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, December 5, 1995, in the Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge, with the Rev. Lew Van Der Wege presiding.

Memorials may be sent to Medicine Lodge Ranch Rodeo in care of Forsyth Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge.
