Pfc. E I Walker Killed In Action In Italy

Adding to the steadily increasing list of World War II causalities from Barber county was the announcement last week that Pfc. E. I. (Curley) Walker, husband of Dorothy Walker and brother-in-law of C. E. Schrimp, both of Medicine Lodge, had been reported killed in action in Italy on Sept. 24, 1944.

Pfc. Walker was well known in Barber county as he had been employed on various farms in the Medicine Lodge, Lake City and Sun City vicinities.

Pfc. Walker enlisted in the army in October of 1942. He was sent overseas in the spring of 1943.

In addition to his wife, a daughter, Wanda, and his parents, who live in Missouri, survive him.
