Elijah J Gaddie Aged Man Found Dead

E. J. Gaddie, resident of the Sharon community for 60 years, was found dead in the road in front of the home Sunday evening. He had suffered a heart attack and it was thought that he had been dead for several hours.

The body was discovered by Ralph DeWitt. Mr. Gaddie had been in ill health for several years.

Funeral arrangements were in charge of W. R. Forsyth & Son. Services were held at Highland cemetery her Monday afternoon with Rev. L. H. McCormick officiating. The following obituary was read:

Elijah J. Gaddie, son of James E. and Rachel H. Gaddie, was born Nov. 23, 1873, near Campbellville, Ky., and departed this life Oct. 8, 1944, at Sharon at the age of 70 years, 10 months and 15 days. He was married to Sudie Oakes, and to this union was born one son, Glyne O. Gaddie, who is now serving with the air forces in France. He was preceded in death by his wife. Mr. Gaddie lived in and near Sharon the greater part of his life. He was respected by all who knew him. He is survived by his son, his daughter-in-law and five grandsons. Also several nieces and nephews and other relatives and a host of friends.
