E-mail from Jim Woodworth to Kim Fowles, 28 Sept 2006:

Good Evening -

I thought that I would share a picture of a home in Hazelton, Kansas, that my great grandparents lived in while my great grandfather worked in a local bank and also as a telegraph operator at the railroad station. My grandfather, Samuel B. Woodworth was born in Hazelton on 8/2/1888 and his sister, Fanny O. Woodworth was born on 7/18/1891.

If you could direct me somewhere to look for possible information on my family while they live there, I would appreciate it. My great grandparents were Elmer and Jane "Jennie" Woodworth.

Thanks -

Jim Woodworth

"Hazelton was settled largely by families from Mercer County, Pennsylvania, who were persuaded to come west by the town's founders, J.O. Hazelton and A.H. Peck. Once a thriving community that boasted the Hazelton Collegiate Institute, Hazelton was badly depleted by the Oklahoma Land Run when many houses, hotels, and businesses moved into Oklahoma."

Thanks to Jim Woodworth for contributing the above photograph and information about the photograph to this web site, and to Kim Fowles for forwarding this photograph and message.
