Franklin B. House

Franklin B. House, 92, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at South Wind Hospice Home, Pratt. He was born November 11, 1914 at home in Elm Mills Township, the son of the late Ben and Emma (Morisse) House.

On February 26, 1939 he married Maxine Armitstead. She died April 8, 2000.

A resident of Pratt for six years, coming from Isabel, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pratt, the Methodist Men, Isabel and IOOF. He participated in the Peace Treaty Pageant and served on the Agricultural Soil Conservation Committee for 22 years. He was a lifetime farmer/rancher, and was awarded several soil conservation awards.

He is survived by two sons: Rodger House, Isabel and Gary and his wife Betul House, Kansas City, MO; two daughters: Carol Risley, Pratt and Janet and husband Roger Wreath, Springfield, MO; sister Edna Boyd, Sawyer; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Jake and Leo House; two grandsons: David Roger Wreath and Christopher House; and a great granddaughter: Arian Scherer.

Funeral was Friday, April 6, 2007 at First United Methodist Church, Pratt with Jan Blasi officiating. Burial was in Ellenwood Cemetery, Sawyer.
