Hutchinson Democrat, April 11, 1896.

Henry Morgan

Mr. Henry Morgan died at his residence, 115 D. West, at noon on the 3d inst. And was buried on Saturday.

He was a well known citizen and had many warm friends. He was born in South Hampton, England, and was 49 years old. He served eight years in the English army. He married and sailed from Liverpool twelve years ago, coming straight to Kansas, and for the greater part of the time has resided in Hutchinson.

His funeral was large and imposing, attended by many distinguished personages of the city, showing a deep, heart felt sympathy for the bereaved family. Mr. Morgan had suffered severely for many years with what seemed to be Bright’s disease of the kidneys, but withal was very cheerful and good natured.

He leaves a widow and five children to mourn his sad loss. Mrs. Morgan expresses herself as very grateful to the many kind friends who were attentive and sympathetic during her many hours of trouble in the last days when her husband was slowly but surely passing away.

Mr. Henry Morgan and his wife Sarah, homesteaded 160 acres in 1886 in Turkey Creek Township, north of Sun City, Barber County, Kansas.
