Joe D. "JD" Brownell

Joe D. "JD" Brownell, 87 died Dec. 27, 2007 at Attica Long Term Care, Attica. He was born Dec. 19, 1920 in Fairview, OK, the son of Albert Henry and Edith (Tea) Brownell. He was a resident of Medicine Lodge since 1951 coming from Fruita, Colorado, he worked at National Gypsum Company for 35 years in Medicine Lodge. After retiring he worked odd jobs until his heath failed. He was of the Christian Faith.

On Feb. 6 1943 he married Lena Woods at Fairview, OK, she survives.

Other survivors include 5 sons, Albert, Troy and Benny, all of Medicine Lodge. Charles, Hamlan, NY; Terry, Greeley, CO; 3 daughters, Dona Dittman, Dodge City, KS; Lena Morris, Greeley, CO; and Ella Ghouse, Garland, TX, 3 Brothers Robert Brownell, Fruita, CO; Henry Brownell, Jr., Colorado Springs, CO; and Lester Brownell, Springfield, MO; a sister Bertie Countryman, Kansas City, MO; 16 Grandchildren, 4 Step Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and 6 Step Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Jane Woodward, a brother, Albert, 2 infant brothers, and 3 sisters Pansy Bromlow, Frances Countryman, and Lucile Miller and a grandson Ronnie Dittman.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 am Wednesday Jan. 2, 2008 at First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge with Pastor Tom Walters presiding. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge. Visitation will be from 10:00-8:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Larrison Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge.
