Josephine (Laws) Eggleston

Josephine (Laws) Eggleston, 93, died April 18, 2007 at her home in Medicine Lodge. She was born March 5, 1914 on a farm near Lebo, Kansas, the daughter of Oscar and Lizzie (Stief) Laws. She attended country school and Lebo High School, and later graduated from the University of Kansas. She worked as a Home Advisor for the Farm Security Administration, was a case worker for the SRS and worked for the American Red Cross during WWII. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Hope Circle, and Lorraine Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, all in Medicine Lodge.

On July 22, 1942 she married J. Raymond Eggleston in Long Beach, California. He died December 2, 1999.

Survivors include three sons, Roger B., North Platte, Nebraska, R. Dale, Dallas, Texas, and Richard D. Wichita; 6 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son Joseph Raymond and 4 brothers and 8 sisters.

Funeral Service was held on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the United Methodist Church with Pastor Frank DeFisher presiding. Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.
