June (Harding) Wortman

June Wortman, age 76, died Friday, August 17, 2007 at her home, Medicine Lodge.

She was born May 31, 1931 at Isabel, KS the daughter of the late Orville M. and Mary Ellen (Smith) Harding. A lifetime resident of the Medicine Lodge area, she was a waitress, and was a school cook. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge, Lorraine Chapter #39 Order of the Eastern Star for over 25 years where was Past Worthy Matron, and Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital Auxilary, where she served as past president. On November 21, 1957 she married Richard Wortman at Medicine Lodge, KS. He survives.

Other survivors include two sons Tom and wife Susan, Raton, NM; and Rich and wife Sheral, Liberal, KS; two brothers, Bill Harding Chattanooga, TN; and Bob Harding McMinnville, OR: and four sisters, Margaret Ditgen, Augusta, KS; Betty Ryan, Medicine Lodge; Mary Ann Martin, South Fork, CO; and Donna Beth Gager, Plainville, KS, 6 Grandchildren, and 9 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister Bernice Bell.

Funeral Service was held Wednesday at First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge with Pastor Tom Walters officiating, with a memorial service provided by the Lorraine Chapter #39 Order of the Eastern Star.

Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.

Memorials may be made to Lorraine Chapter #39 Order of the Eastern Star in care of the funeral home.
