Marvin James Jones

Marvin James Jones, 71, died Nov. 27, 2007, in Medicine Lodge, Kansas.

He was born June 24, 1936, in Winfield, the son of James Marvin and Opal Pearl (Tredway) Jones. He was a maintenance supervisor for Phillips Pipe Line Co. for 25 years. He was a longtime resident of Medicine Lodge.

He belonged to United Methodist Church, Medicine Lodge, Masonic Lodge, and the Shriners.

On Nov. 24, 1955, he married Barbara Osborne in Medicine Lodge. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Kent Jones, Seneca, Mo.; a daughter, Tacy Beck, Kearney, Mo.; a brother, Wallace Jones, Medicine Lodge; three sisters, Carolyn Legion, Great Bend, Joann Motter, Overland Park, and Joyce Bell, Isabel; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Friday at United Methodist Church, Medicine Lodge, with Pastor Frank DeFisher presiding. Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.

Memorials may be sent to the church or the American Cancer Society, both in care of the funeral home.
