Moritz Jack "Popeye" Baessler

Moritz Jack "Popeye Baessler, 73, died Saturday, November 12, 2005 at his home in Sharon, Kansas. He was born December 3, 1931 at Coldwater, Kansas, the son of John G. and Dova A. (Charles) Baessler.

A resident of Sharon since 1976, he was a retired oil and gas well service unit operator in the oil industry and later worked for Rankin farms as a farmhand.

He was a member of the Moose Club, Kingman, Kansas.

He married Daphna L. Hamilton on May 20, 1951 at Sun City, Kansas.

He is survived by his wife Daphna L. Baessler, Sharon, Kansas; one daughter, Cynthia Bowman (Bud) of Marlow, Oklahoma, and two sons, Dale Baessler, Kingman and Gale (Karen) Baessler of Coldwater, Kansas; three sisters, Dova (Jack) Shuman of LaVern, Oklahoma, Nancy Myers of Madrid, Nebraska, Mary (Les) Welsher of LaVern, Oklahoma; one brother, Keith Baessler of Wichita, Kansas; six grandchildren, Tyler Baessler, Amy Bowman, Carter Bowman, Molly Houseman, Seth Cantrall, Chelsey Cantrall and 2 great grandchildren, John Jackson and Shakota Houseman.

He was preceded in death by a son Thad Cantrall and a brother Ted Baessler.

Memorial Service was held at Larrison Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge with Pastor Tom Walters officiating on Wednesday, November 16, 2005.
