Mr. Tilford Rucker, 76, of Ramona, Oklahoma died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, 11 February 1984 in the Jane Phillips Medical Center.Mr. Rucker was born 28 August 1907 at Sharon, Kansas to Joseph Oscar Rucker and Bertha Irene Young Rucker. He grew up and received his education at Gerlane, Kansas (College Hill School). Mr. Rucker married Winnie Lorraine Lemmon 20-Mar-1927 at Sharon, Kansas
He was an employee of TRW Reda Pump for 20 years until his retirement. After retirement he stayed active as a farmer, a wood caver and a pecan tree grafter. He was a member of the TRW Reda Pump Retired Person’s Club and of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Rucker is survived by his wife Winnie Lorraine Rucker, Ramona, Oklahoma; one son, James Tilford Rucker, Houston, Texas; one daughter, Mavis June Goode, Shreveport, Louisiana; two brothers, Robert Lyle Rucker, Wheatland, Missouri and Clarence Rucker, Sharon, Kansas; three sisters, Evelyn Stratton, Wellington, Kansas, Jessie Weigand - also of Wellington - and Zelma Inslee, Medicine Lodge, Kansas; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Rucker will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday in the Highland Cemetery in Medicine Lodge, Kansas with Rev. Jona Unruh of the First Baptist Church of Sharon, Kansas officiating. Funeral services and internment will be under the directions of Stumpff Funeral Home, Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
A memorial fund has been established to the American Cancer Society in care of Mary Holmes, PO Box 485, Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74005.
Note by Ed Rucker: I found this Obit saved on my computer in a genealogy file. This is from an undated newspaper clipping that my Grandma Bertha Emma Inslee collected. Tilford was a brother to my grandpa Clarence Rucker.
