Vaughn E. Spencer

Vaughn E. Spencer, 76, died June 3, 1999, at his home in Sharon.

He was born Sept. 5, 1922, at Shawnee, Okla., the son of G. Ray and Gertrude Brandt Spencer. A resident of Sharon for 55 years, moving from Harrah, Okla., he was a barber for 25 years in Medicine Lodge and was also a truck driver.

He belonged to St. Boniface Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion, all at Sharon.

On June 14, 1943, he married Loretta Mary Traffas at Sharon. She survives.

Other survivors include: four sons, Vaughn F. and Louis G., both of Denver, Colo., Mark C., Houston, Texas, and George R., Manhattan; three daughters, Marcia J. Dodson, Tucson, Ariz., Barbara R. Oller, Emporia, and Lori A. Hodges, Ponca City, Okla.; 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 7, 1999, at St. Boniface Church, Sharon, with Father Anthony Suellentrop presiding. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Larrison-Forsyth Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge, was in charge of arrangements.
