The Barber County Heritage Center is a new facility for Barber County and Medicine Lodge. The Historical Center is operated by the Greater Barber County Historical Action Association. Its Community Room and Museum consists of over 10,000 sq. ft. of floor space. It is a great setting for community events, concerts and family reunions. Lois Wortman is in charge of renting the Heritage Center. Her number is 620-886-5242.

The Heritage Center is at 1056 SE Isabel Road on Highway 160 east of Medicine Lodge, Kansas. It is across the highway from the Peace Treaty Grounds entrance and at the Isabel turn off.

Community Service Tax Credits Awarded, July 1, 2003:   "Greater Barber County Historical Action Association, Inc., Medicine Lodge, $225,000. This award will help build the Heritage Center to include a large community room that will be used for educational, health, community activities and display space for historical artifacts."
