Obituary of GEORGE E. BOUCHER, SR.

George E. Boucher, Sr., 71, of Ft. Smith, Ark. and formerly of El Dorado, died suddenly Monday, June 30, 1986 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First United Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow the services in the Augusta Cemetery.

Mr. Boucher was born April 8, 1915 in Butler County, the son of Charlie and Lena (Zurbucken) Boucher. He married Vemille L. Mitchell April 4, 1936 in Guthrie, Okla. She preceded him in death Oct. 30, 1981.

His children are George E. Boucher, Jr. and his wife, Carol of El Dorado; Mrs. Harry (Lenea) Lewis of Latham; and Mrs. Lee (Becky) Jordan of Bloomington, Minn. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Neoma Jean Scott.

Mr. Boucher retired from Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital, where he was chief engineer for 33 years. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church; the El Dorado Patmos Masonic Lodge No. 97, A.F. & A.M.; and the Kiwanis Club.

On April 23, 1983, he married Doris White in Ft. Smith, Ark. She survives. His stepchildren include one stepson, Dennis Lee White of El Dorado; and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Brenda Cross and Mrs. Yvonne Hofer, both of Ft. Smith. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include four brothers, William of Elbing, Virgil of Wichita, Jack of Burden and Henry of Rose Hill; and four sisters, Mrs. Martha Cody of Augusta, Mrs. Ruby Mahlandt of Douglass, Mrs. Ethel Rickard of Newton and Mrs. Pat Leap of Midwest City, Okla.

A memorial has been established with the ladies auxiliary at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Contributions can be sent to the Kirby Morris Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
