Virgel Dagel dies in Wichita

Virgel Elmer Dagel, 84, Route 1, died today at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.

His service will be at 10: 30 a.m. Friday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Galen Hinshaw will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 11, 1899 in Rose Hill to William and Melissa Dennett Dagel.

He married Alberta Dell Patterson May 1, 1923 in Wichita. She preceded him in death.

He was a retired Cities Service oil field pumper.

He was a member of the Church of Christ. He served in the military during World War II.

He was a member of the Doughtery Fraternity.

Survivors include a son, Verl E. Dagel of Augusta; sisters, Viola Chance of Fowler and Dolly Hinshaw of Rose Hill; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
