     Apr. 13 -- $50 was appropriated to the Matfield Green Township road fund.


     Apr.20 -- The Nichols Brothers have rented the Eureka Hotel and will endeavor to give general satisfaction.


     Apr. 27 -- Evan Jones of Clements has discharged all his stone cutters for awhile.


     May 4 -- N. A. Ferlet, the well known proprietor of the Union Hotel, Cottonwood Falls, was found dead in his bed.


     John Sauble has some of the finest cattle anywhere in the county.


     May 11 -- W. E. Timmons, editor and proprietor of the Chase County Current, died at his home.


     May 18 -- Winnie Judd, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Judd, of Rock creek, aged 15 years, died of pernicious anemia.


     May 25 -- A. R. Ice is the administrator for the estate of Rebecca Hawkins,deceased.


     Cedar Point was visited by a heavy wind and hail storm last Monday night.


     Jun. 1 -- The city council propose the lighting of the city with coal oil lamps on Broadway street only.


     Little Harley Huston, seven years old of Cedar Point Drowns.


     Hilton's Ice Cream Parlor is now in running order.


     Jun.5 -- R. B. Harris was instructed to purchase 12 street lamps.


     The Marshal was instructed to see that the three saloons were closed at 10 P M every day and all day on Sunday.


     Jun. 22 -- Ed Holmes and Bill Shaft made the first go-devil in the county, and named it.


     Jul. 6 -- The County Institute just closed was much the largest held in this county in many years.


     Dennis Landsbury, of Matfield Township, accidentally shot himself with a 38 revolver, making a very ugly wound in the leg.
