Sep. 21, 1899 -- Born to Mr. & Mrs Willie Romigh, September 16, a daughter.
Three year old daughter of Mr. & Mrs John Thompson, Clements, died of
spinal meningetis.
The Presbyterian parsonage is nearly ready for plasterers.
Old Settlers and Old Soldiers reunion of 1899 a grand success.
Sep. 28 -- The new scholars attending the high school were given a reception at the
E. F. Holmes residence.
Wilson Stout, who moved to Arkansas about five years ago, has rented his
farm and returned to Chase County.
David Rettiger, of the firm Rettiger and Norton, stone contractors, died
at the family residence.
Fred Pract of Middle creek passed away.
A mass concention of the Republications will be held at Toledo, Matfield,
and Bazaar townships September 30th.
Oct. 5, 1899 -- The Holmes band boys had their picture "took" last Saturday.
Miss Rose Daugherty, daughter of Commissioner Daugherty, had her hands
badly scaled last Sunday.
Geo. Williams, son of Dr. G. W. Williams dies.
Marriage of Mr. W. B. Simpson of Strong City to Miss Flora Stenzel of
Middle Creek, Mr. W. S. Berkshire of Elmdale, to Miss May Childs of this
township.
R. E. Steward will begin the publication of a newspaper at Elmdale next
week.
Oct. 12 -- Uncle Tom Butler says there is a woman on his farm who shucked 60 bushels
of corn in one day.
Dan Foxworthy's baby was buried yesterday.
Micheal Stubenhofer passed away September 26th. He was married to Miss
Theresia Dobblinger in 1849 and they had ten children, 5 boys and 5 girls.
T. G. Allen says he teaches school in the enterprising district in Chase Co.
Oct. 19, 1899 -- The "Elmdale Report" is all right.
S. A. Breese has his office in the Masonic building now.
