     Wilson Stout, who moved to Arkansas about five years ago, has rented his farm and returned to Chase County.

     David Rettiger, of the firm Rettiger and Norton, stone contractors, died at the family residence.

     Fred Pract of Middle creek passed away.

     A mass concention of the Republications will be held at Toledo, Matfield, and Bazaar townships September 30th.

     Oct. 12 -- Uncle Tom Butler says there is a woman on his farm who shucked 60 bushels of corn in one day.

     Dan Foxworthy's baby was buried yesterday.

     Micheal Stubenhofer passed away September 26th. He was married to Miss Theresia Dobblinger in 1849 and they had ten children, 5 boys and 5 girls.

     T. G. Allen says he teaches school in the enterprising district in Chase Co.
