     Dec. 4, 1906 - The quotation books issued by the ladies of the Federated Clubs of Cottonwood Falls for the benefit of Prairie Grove cemetery go on sale.

     Dec. 7 - Farmers for all parts of Chase Co. met and organized a county Farmers Institute with 52 charter members. W. S. Romigh is the President.

     W. P. Penny, County Clerk elect and family of Clements have moved to the Falls.

     Dec. 11 - John W. Sanders departed this life in his office in the Falls. He will be remembered as one of the best lawyers of his day in Kansas.

     The Starkey boy have a gas well down about 50 feet located near Harry’s House.

     Finley & Son have received direct from Germany a fancy line of souvenir china with pictures of the courthouse and old mill and bridge. Prices 25 cents & 50 cents.

     A. J. Hiner, of Buck creek, has sold his 160 farm to Matt McCabe of Bazaar.

     Dec. 14 - Mrs J. C. Farrington dies at Kansas City, Mo. Mrs Farrington was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs Barney Lantry and one of Chase County's favorite daughters.

     Frank Ghrer & Ed Gruwell are lathing and plastering the new house of Wm. Stubenhofer, near Neva.

     Dec. 18 - H. B. Chapman has organized a dancing class which will meet at the Strong City Auditorium.

     Mrs Jennie C. Cushman of Ohio & Judge A. Meckel of the Falls are wed.

     The price of P. 0. boxes go up in effect Jan. 1st. Call boxes 20 cents per quarter; and small boxes 35 cents; large lock boxes 45 cents; and lock drawers 60 cents.

     Dec. 21 - The big annual wolf hunt will take place on New Years Day, under the direction of J. H. Easter, Wm. Hyle, Frank Cook, W. H. Jacobs, Harry Harris and Henry ImMasche.

     Chas. Yeager brought in a load of turkeys from Rock creek for the Christmas trade.

     "The Old, Old, Story", written by T. G. Allen appears in this issue of the Leader. It is a most beautiful Christmas poem.

     Messr. Joe & Dan Eastman are attending the Normal at Emporia.

     Dec. 28 - Maude Way and Clyde Park were married on Christmas Eve at the courthouse.

     Jan. 1, 1907 - Deaths: H. Hackett of the Falls and Benjamin F. Mealy of Fox Creek.

     Elmdale - Every house in this town is rented and more people coming in.

     Jan. 8 - Representative J. H. Mercer of Bazaar, left for Topeka to attend the State Legislature. State Senator J. M. Hamme went later.

     Walter Matti of South Fork left for Manhattan where he will attend college.

     Born: a eleven pound boy to Mr. & Mrs John Glanville of Bloody Creek.

     Jan. 11 - Death, Charles A. Hancock formerly of Saffordville. His wife was Eliza L. Moffit of Toledo Township.
