     Jan. 11, 1907 - J. W. Cope is building two fine corrals with stone wall two feet thick and six feet high.

     Jan. 15 - Miss Gertrude Harris was assaulted while walking to the street car from her school at Marble Hill.

     Ex-County Clerk, J. E. Bocook has accepted a position with the J. D. McNee Hardware Co.

     The County Poor Farm under management of Mr. Crouch cleared over and above expenses $3.55 last year.

     The new dam which was built for the Cottonwood Falls Milling Co. is completed.

     Jan. 18 - Sheriff W. K. Myers finished moving his household goods from Thurman.

     E. R. Beedle of Thurman has about got the new addition to his house completed.

     Jan. 22 - A man who come to this city when it was a border town has died, J. W. McWilliams. Mr. McWilliams was a practicing attorney and did extensive real estate and loan business in the Falls.

     The Jeffrey Merc. Co. of Elmdale have installed a regular meat market in their back room.

     Jan. 25 - Geo. Yeager sold his meat market and will move back to the farm on Rock Creek.

     W. C. Austin, editor of this paper, was elected Vice-President of the State Editorial Association in Topeka.

     Nellie Eastman is teaching at High Prairie.

     Birth of a daughter to the Henry Williams of Clements.

     Jan. 29 - Governor Hoch has appointed Henry Weaver and Clay Shaft as Justices of Peace of Falls township, due to the deaths of Jabin Johnson and J. W. McWilliams.

     Born to Mr. & Mrs H. R. Hayden of Middle Creek, a daughter.

     Feb. 1 - Several tributes have been published in the Leader for J. W. McWilliams who just passed away.

     Mildred Mosier and Cabe Burch of Elmdale are married.

     A tribute to Rhoda Ann Shaft, wife of Wm. H. Shaft, who died Dec. 31, 1906, is posted in the Leader.

     John Wilson of Peyton Creek, has his new house nearly completed.

     Those who wish to secure deeds to lots at the Clements Cemetery, should apply soon to M. M. Patton.

     Feb. 5 - Wreck on the Consolidated, two cars were going down hill close together and the rear car ran upon the other. No one was injured.

     The old Alford farm, two miles west of Bazaar will be sold at public auction Feb. 7th.

     Feb. 8 - E. D. Replogle, who bought the Long & Halligan ice house on Buck Creek, has been filling it this week.

     Feb. 12 - R. 0. Miner has bought an interest in the Cottonwood Falls Milling Co. and assumes the active management of the business affairs of the Company.
