1907
May 21, 1907 - The Santa Fe depot at the Falls was completely destroyed by fire.
The assessment rolls have all been turned into the County Clerks office and the total population for Chase County is 7,471.
The Middle Creek band now has eleven members.
Agent Siler is operating out of two palace cars which are now the Santa Fe headquarters.
May 24 - A dainty little daughter come to make her home with Mr. and Mrs Joe Costello of Strong City. Also a girl born to Mr. & Mrs Roscoe Hager of Cottonwood Falls.
Julia A. McCabe and John Cook are married. Their home will be in Wichita.
May 28 - The alumni of the Strong City High School held their banquet in honor of the class of 1907 at the Bank Hotel.
Will Clay and Maud Trussler of Strong City are Wed. They will make their home in Emporia.
May 31 - The E. B. Greene family have moved to their farm at Bazaar.
June 4 - Mr. & Mrs A. B. Watson of the Falls celebrate their 50th Golden Wedding anniversary. 48 of these years have been spent in Kansas.
Miss Bessie Wood resigns from the Chase County High School as an instructor.
June 11 - J. F. Cress of Cedar Point died. Mr. Cress had been in the general merchandise business in Cedar Point a number of years.
Mrs. S. E. Osborn of Cahola had 22 teeth pulled. It shows how gritty some women will be.
June 18 - T. F. Guthrie is going to hold a sale of his famous Berkshire hogs at Kansas City. There will be 40 of the finest in the United States.
June 21 - Ethel Gillaspie of Bazaar and Cal Evans Jr., of South Fork were married and will live with the groom's father on South Fork.
Miss Adaline Rogler has graduated from the State Normal at Emporia.
The heirs of P. P. Schriver and Warren Peck have each sued the A.T. & S. F. Ry. for $10,000.00 damages on account of the death of the gentlemen at the railroad crossing west of Cedar Point.
The masons are laying the foundation on the C. M. Gregory house on Spring street.
June 25 - The mill at the Falls has been shut down a few days due to high water.
Grace Woodring and Dolphus Hoover both of Strong City are married.
June 28 - Arabella Holsinger and Leroy Martin of Cassoday are married. Mrs Martin is a teacher and Mr. Martin is a stockman and farmer.
July 2 - City grants natural gas franchise to E. E. Roudebush of Topeka to pipe natural gas in Cottonwood Falls.
Miss Achsah McGregor and Glen Whitlock both of the Falls are married, also Silas G. Nichols and Effie Gerusha are married by Squire Golden at Matfield.
Fred Starkey is on a trip to England to visit his old home.
Messrs. Rettiger & Norton were awarded the contract to furnish the cut-stone for the C. M. Gregory new residence.
