     Mar. 24, 1908 - Mr. & Mrs. James McCabe of Bazaar are the parents of a son.

     Mar. 27 - The Kansas Gas and Cement Co. which is supplying Strong City and Cottonwood Falls with natural gas, piped from their wells at Elmdale, have completed the main from Elmdale and turned on the first gas here today.

     L. M. Swope is preparing to commence the building of a fine residence on his lots on the southeast corner of Pearl and Plum streets. Workmen are already laying the foundation for his barn.

     Mar. 31 - Brice Hays, second son of Martin and Ruhoma Hays has died at Bazaar. He was only 35 years of age and leaves a wife, Glennie and a small daughter.

     Miss Kittie Houghton, who has attended Kansas University at Lawrence, has accepted a teaching position in one of the Kansas City schools.

     Apr. 3 - It is probable that the people of Cottonwood Falls will have an opportunity of voting on the question of installing water works within a short time.

     Apr. 7 - Most rural schools have closed for this term of 1908.

     The Percy Hunt's and Claude Shaft's of Clements have new baby's in the family.

     Mr. & Mrs B. M. Garth of the Saffordville area also a new girl.

     Dr. Corbin opens a Nature Cure Sanitarium in Strong City in the old Lantry home on the hill.

     Apr. 10 - All dog taxes should be paid at the City Clerk’s office.

     Mr. & Mrs Lum Rider of Middle creek are the parents of a daughter.

     Apr. 14 - R. 0. Miner of the Falls has bought a half interest in the Martin Dry Goods Co.

     There are probably more new residents now under construction in Cottonwood Falls than ever before, among them are; C. M. Gregory, J. B. Sanders, L. M. Swope, R. F. Holmes, J. D. McNee, W. G. Smith, and R. C. Johnston.

     Apr. 17 - Mrs Maude Strail entertained the Delta Thetas Club with a chopstick party.

     The depot and tower house at Plymouth, was destroyed by fire.

     Bonds in the amount of $25,000 will be voted on for Cottonwood Falls water works.

     L. Daley and Son of Strong City are erecting a new store building on the 4th and Cottonwood Ave. and it will be of stone.

     Arch Miller, Jr. and Jas. Robertson attended the coursing meet at Emporia.

     Apr. 21 - Leo G. Holz and Margaret Martin of the Falls are wed.

     T. R. Wells of Middle creek will be a candidate before the primaries for the Republican nomination for Probate Judge.

     Fred Romigh, Veternarian surgeon is permanently located at the Palace Livery Barn in the Falls.
