Apr. 28, 1908 - Cottonwood Falls and Strong City will hold a Gas Celebration on May 6th at Bates Grove.
Mr. & Mrs. W. W. Rockwood of the Falls celebrate their 50th Golden Wedding.
May 5 - Robert Merritt and Belle Garrison both of Saffordville are married.
May 8 - On account of rainy weather the Gas Jubilee was postponed until May 14th.
May 12 - Dr. B. R. Miller of McPherson, Kansas, has moved to the Falls and will open a dentist office in rooms over the Chase County National Bank.
May 15, - A license was issued to C. E. Baldwin and C. A. Kolb of the Falls to operate billard halls.
The Dawson Bros. and Mac Ballew of Clements gave one of the most enjoyable dances of the season at Hunt's Hall.
The town of Cottonwood Falls has a population of 941 in 1908.
Newton Stout east of Strong City has suddenly died. He has lived in this county 40 years.
May 20 - Dr. S. B. Grover a veterinary surgeon and practical horse doctor, has located at Strong City at the Costello Livery Barn.
J. E. Bocook sold the Surfluh ranch on Rock creek to E. A. Walden of Peabody. It sold for $16.00 per acre and consists of 1870 acres.
May 22 - Nellie Kerwin of Strong City and Arthur Crouch of Saffordville were married at the Catholic church in Strong City.
May 26 - School district #3 Cedar Point will receive bids to build a new school house. Building to be of rock.
June 2 - The water works bond carries by a vote of 159 to 55 at a special election.
Death of W. H. Stephenson of Clements, an early resident of this county.
The Bloody creek school house district #35 was struck by lighting and entirely destroyed by fire.
One of the most beautiful sights is between Elmdale and the Elk church, a row of cherry trees is loaded down with ripe fruit on the Peter McCullum's place.
June 5 - Lula Heck of the Falls and Charles Snedden of Atchinson are married.
Some of the farmers at Bazaar are losing cattle on account of black leg, such as Frank Gaddie and Dick Hays have lost five fine calves.
June 9 - Carrie Breese will teach at the city school in Kingman, Kansas this next term.
B. F. Empie of Strong City will be a candidate for the office of County Clerk.
The cemetery at Elmdale has a fence on the south side and new woven wire on the rest.
