     MAR. 30 - 1909 - Ida Hudson and Rex Hertherington are married in the Falls.

     Apr. 2 - Robert P. North an early settler in Chase County has passed away.

     Mrs Stanley Sedgwick who lives two miles east of Saffordville burned to death. She leaves a husband and four small children.

     Apr. 6 - Dr. Corbin moves his Sanitarium business from Strong City to the Falls.

     R. F. Holmes has bought the Watson Blacksmith shop and the building occupied by the Wilcox Feed Store and is preparing to build a strickly up-todate furniture store on the lots.

     Apr. 13 - A bank, with $10,000 capital, has been organized at Clements and all the stock subscribed. The Board of Directors are: J. W. Cope, Wm. Dawson, Lew Becker, Oscar Duehn, John Hanna, Ben Whetherholt, and H. C. Stephenson.

     Charles W. Thompson and Grace E. Cox, are married in Toledo township at the home of the bride's parents.

     Apr. 20 - Dr. E. P. Brown has returned to the Falls and will do all classes of dental work as formerly.

     Apr. 23 - The married men beat the single men in an eleven inning ball game, score 9 to 8.

     Apr. 27 – Myrtle Yenzer and Walter Erickson of Canaan are married.

     Apr. 30 – Prof. B. F. Martin, Principal of the Chase County High School has accepted a job at El Dorado at a salary of $1,500. Mr Martin has been the Principal of the high school since its organization in 1903.

     The Twin City Ball Team is putting out a first class article in ball playing. At the meeting of the City Council, George Long was appointed City Marshal and he is to act as night watchman.

     May 11 - A. P. Gandy an old settler of Chase County and was Register of Deeds has died in San Diego, Calif.

     May 18 - The first installment of the Clements alfalfa mill has arrived in the form of several hundred feet of iron roofing.

     May 28 - Bessie C. Osman and Paris D. Gibson, both of Clements, are married by Judge Wells.

     Jun. 1 - The appearance of the court room has been greatly improved by the new linoleum which as just been put down. The new chairs and table have also arrived.

     Jun. 4 - Dr. McKinley gives a lecture on the dreaded disease of tuberculosis.

     Jun. 8 - Miss Lillian Quinn and Mr. James O’Nell were united in marriage at the Saint Anthony’s Church in Strong City.

     Ira Smith has purchased the Blurton Restaurant and has taken possession.

     Jun. 18 - Dr. W. J. Hatfield will be here in Cottonwood Falls next week to make this his home. The doctor is an experienced surgeon as well as physician.
