     Sept. 10, 1909 - For Sale - My property on Spring Creek one block west of County High School, Frank Hungerford.

     Sept. 14 - L. L. Place's general store at Cedar Point was robbed. Sheriff Myers and Justice Shaft are making and investigation.

     Sept. 17 - Maude Browning is the hello girl at Bazaar central.

     Sept. 24 - Roy Jaggers, twenty two years old, who farms on the Ferd Dwelle place south of Cedar Point, was thrown from his horse and fell on his head, breaking his neck. He died from his injuries.

     Fifteen year old Charlie Swift of Matfield Green died. He is the son of Forester Swift. Charlie was a good boy and will be greatly missed.

     Sept. 28 - Wm. Blurton died at his home in the Falls. Mr. Blurton was 41 years old.

     Oct. 1 - J. E. Duchonois has sold the Chase County Stone Company to Glidd and Layport of Lawrence, Ks.

     Robert Harold the youngest child of Mr. & Mrs Arville Johnson, who live on South Fork some miles south of Matfield Green, was drowned in the creek, near his home. Little Robert was not quite two years old and had wandered away from the house.

     The business men on main street have made arrangements with H. F. Hoel to sprinkle Broadway from the courthouse to the river.

     Everett Bocook has sold his stock of hardware at Matfield Green to T. J. Banks of that place.

     Oct. 5 - The subscription price of the Leader will be increased to $1.50 per year.

     Oct. 8 - Dr. C. F. Hoover of Saffordville returned from Chicago where he has been taking post Graduate work.

     Little Earl Leland Chandler, one year and eight months old burned to death. He was the son of Mr. & Mrs. L. L. Chandler who had just moved recently to Bazaar.

     Martha Thurston and Robert Myers are married. Mr. Myers is the rural route mail carrier out of Elmdale, where they will make their home.

     Oct. 12 - The section house at Elmdale burned down last week.

     Oct. 15 - Carl P. Fillmore will hold a public sale west of Bazaar on the old Wadsworth place.

     Joseph L. Stone, Jr. of Saffordville will also have a public sale at his home. He and the family are moving to Arkansas.

     Oct. 19 - Dr. & Mrs. Hatfield of Cottonwood Falls have decided to leave and are moving to Mt. Hope, Ks.

     The five week old baby of Mr. & Mrs Charles Harvey of Strong City has died. The funeral services were held at the Con Harvey home.

     Oct. 22 - The Blitz-Triemer wedding was held at the German Lutheran church at Strong City.

     Oct. 27 - F. W. Morris shot his wife twice with a winchester shot gun, killing her instantly. Then he turned the gun on himself. The killing took place at the Morris home about three miles east of Homestead.
