     Oct. 27 - 1909 - Carrie Poland and Guy Shaw both of Matfield Green were married by Judge Wells in his office.



     Nov. 11 - Henry McCracken and family of Rock creek have moved to Bazaar. They will occupy the Merritt residence and hold central office.



     Nov. 9 - An old timer of Chase County has died, Henry Weaver at his home.



     Nov. 12 - Ed Maloney and Kate Lawless were united in marriage.



     Nov. 16 - S. W. Beach was awarded the contract for building the new vault at the Register of Deeds office in the courthouse.



     Nov. 16 - The Daubs Bros. have rented Mrs. Dave Rettiger's store building in Strong City and will go into the grocery business.



     A marriage license was issued to Chas. F. Zickefoose and Anna C. Hensler both of Clements.



     Capt. Henry Brandley, proprietor of the lumber yards here in the Falls, has bought the yards at Matfield Green. C. H. Golden will go to Matfield Green and Carl Fisher here to attend the yards.



     Nov. 19 - The large house on the county poor farm south of Elmdale was completely destroyed by fire.



     Nov. 26 - Pearl Brandley of Matfield Green enlisted as a nurse in the Army. It is understood she will be sent to the Philippines.



     Nov. 30 - John Crouch is painting Dr. Hoover's office at Saffordville.



     Roy Foxworthy died of effects from a gun shot wound while hunting rabbits on the Foxworthy farm at the mouth of South Fork.



     Dec. 3 - Chas. Davis and family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where Mr. Davis will engage in the practice of law, which he has did in Chase County. Mr. Davis was born in Chase County.



     Dec. 7 - Rose L. Murdock of Saffordville and John H. Bond of Plymouth are married.



     The County Commissioners advertised for bids for the building on the county poor farm.



     Geo. Capwell has a fine display of photographs in the front window of Childers Barber Shop.



     Born to Mr. & Mrs Chas. Yoakem of Homestead, a son.



     Dec. 14 - The Toy Store of Cottonwood Falls - Leo G. Holz or, The 10 ct. Store.



     Dec. 17 - Carl Cowley begins work at once as local editor of the Leader.



     Pinkston Bros. of Cedar Point have just received a new draft Percheron stallion.



     For the first time in years Chase County did not have enough teachers to supply our schools last summer and eighteen teachers from other counties were employed.



     Matfield Green was caught without coal this cold snap.



     Dec. 21 - L. L. Place's General Store at Cedar Point was destroyed entirely by fire.
