     Jan 04, 1910 - A fine girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Moore of Elmdale on Dec. 26, 1909.

     Judd Stewart of Elmdale has erected a nice big ice house and has succeeded in filling it with a good quality of ice.

     Marriage license was issued by Judge Wells to Silas S. Speer and Mildred Wilhite both of South Fork.

     Tom McCabe and his mother, Mrs B. McCabe of Bazaar, returned from Kansas City where the latter was receiving treatment at the Pasteur institute for a mad dog bite.

     W. A. Allman, Ed Forney and Henry Giese will go to Newton to attend the Blacksmith's Association.

     S. W. Goad has decided to quit farming and move to town. A public auction will be held.

     George Long is the City Marshal of Cottonwood Falls.

     Jan 7 - Owen Jones is appointed a court house janitor for the year at $45.00 a month. W. B. Penny was appointed as County Assessor.

     Work on the new vault for the county's records at the Courthouse is progressing rapidly. Frances Bofee was adopted on Dec. 31st by Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Saxer of Buck Creek. The little girl is seven years old.

     A son is born to Mr. & Mrs. Dave Wood. This is the first visit of the stork to Cottonwood Falls in the new year.

     George McNee has filed petition in the Probate Court to be appointed administrator of the James A. G. McNee estate.

     Jan. 14 - Charles Massey was drowned in the back water of the Cottonwood river, east of Cottonwood Falls. He had been camping on the river on the Cartter land.

     A number of young people charivaried Will Miller and his bride.

     Jan. 18 - Joseph G. McDowell died at his home in Cottonwood Falls. He was a formerly in partnership with C. A. Cowley in the Cowley-McDowelI dry goods and grocery business.

     W. W. Rockwood passed away at his Cottonwood home. Mr. Rockwood was one of the first residents of Cottonwood Falls. Besides his wife, Mr. Rockwood if survived by eight children.

     Jan. 21 - Fredrick Starkey, one of Chase County's best know farmers and oldest settler, died in New Mexico.
